“Texas Best – A collection of coloring puzzles” by D. J. Norman-Cox.
Way back when African Americans were allowed to attend the State Fair of Texas only on Colored People Day, a college president gave a speech imploring fairgoers to be the state’s best citizens. This coloring book features 145 Texans who accepted the charge then, before then, and now. All have distinguished themselves as notable, civic-minded citizens. The list includes educators, artisans, politicians, athletes, scientists, and many other professionals.
Each page features a brief biography, picture, and line drawing for coloring. The drawings are challenging. They mimic the pictures, but require a bit of deciphering to determine which color goes where. Wrong choices could result avantguard creations.
